About
Chris Ahrends
Passionate about living in, sharing, celebrating and extending wholeness throughout the world!
After doing a B.Soc Sc Hons (SW) at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, I worked as a Crisis Counsellor at the Hillbrow Crisis Clinic and then returned to complete post-graduate studies in Theology (DipTh) and was ordained an Anglican priest. I was appointed Chaplain to Archbishop Tutu and Sub Dean of St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town from 1986 to 1998 – a hectic and historic time for South Africans. From there I ran the Desmond Tutu Peace Trust for 7 years, and eventually in 2006, founded Four Consulting - a practice offering therapy and training in transformation, wholeness and personal growth.
I believe (with millions around the globe) that everyone has both the longing and the right to fulfil their God-given potential. I also believe that we can and will find lasting solutions to our crises – that the human spirit can and will triumph!
I am married to Jacqui and we have two daughters, Kate and Zoe. Being a South African, I have a keen interest in and concern for the ongoing development of our democracy, for the creation of a just and sustainable world and for the eradication of poverty – which has to be the worse crime against humanity we have witnessed yet.

A writer. A photographer and entrepreneur. A passion to empower others with creative possibilities.
In 2008 I made up my mind that creativity is for everyone…..
To achieve this I want to empower everyone to say “I can…” and to ignite the possibilities within themselves. In conjunction with Chris Ahrends we have taken this a step further in Theory W by providing the language and vision to take creativity to another level, where it enables others to create and write the content of their own contexts. In other words the creativity to see and experience possibilities beyond the original contexts in which our circumstances have often trapped or blocked us.
My background has been in merchant banking which enabled me to later found my own company in derivatives structuring. All things lead elsewhere and this ended up at art school and then on to writing and publishing a book on trees, photography and then into corporate finance where I found myself consulting and mentoring companies in start up phases as well as mergers and takeovers.
I have always been a catalyst to change but am now seeing possibilities as a catalyst to transformation. Theory W has provided me with these tools.
I have a daughter Kate and son David and immerse myself in the bush and fine art when time allows.
